Capture of general information during your visit to our website

Type and purpose of processing:

When you access our website, i.e. also if you do not register or otherwise transmit information to us, general information is captured automatically. This information (server log files) comprises for example the type of web browser, the operating system you are using, the domain name of your internet provider, your IP address etc.

This data is processed primarily for the following purposes:

  • ensuring smooth dial-up to the website,
  • ensuring smooth use of our website,
  • assessment of system security and stability, as well as
  • other administrative purposes.

We do not use your data to find out who you are. We may use this kind of information for statistical evaluations and for the optimisation of our internet presence and the technology behind it.

Legal basis:

We process the data pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the stability and functionality of our website.

Recipients:

The data may be sent to technical service providers who act as processors for the operation and maintenance of our website.

Storage time:

The data will be erased as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose for which it was captured. In respect of data used to make the website accessible, this is generally the case once the respective session ends.

Mandated or required provision:

The provision of the above personal data is mandated neither by law nor by contract. However, the availability and functionality of our website is not guaranteed if no IP address is provided. Furthermore, individual services may be unavailable or restricted. For this reason objections are excluded.

Newsletter

Type and purpose of processing:

Subscribers may also be contacted via email with information relating to the service or the registration (e.g. changes in the Newsletter offering or technical aspects).

To register effectively, we need a valid email address. We use the “double-opt-in” process to check that the registration has been actually carried out by the holder of an email address. To do this, we log the subscription for the Newsletter, the dispatch of a confirmation email and the receipt of the answer requested therein. We do not capture any other data. The data is exclusively used for dispatching the Newsletter and not disclosed to third parties.

Legal basis:

Based on your express consent (Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR), we will regularly send our Newsletter or equivalent information via email to the email address specified by you.

You can revoke your consent to our storing your personal data and using it to send you the Newsletter at any time with effect for the future. You will find a respective link in every Newsletter. We will only process the data in this context as long as we have your respective consent. Once you revoke it, the data will be erased.

Mandated or required provision:

You provide your personal data voluntarily and solely based on your consent. Without your valid consent, we cannot send you our Newsletter.

Live chat

We use on our website a live chat by the company Userlike UG (limited liability), Probsteigasse 44-46, 50670 Cologne, Germany. You can use the live chat similar to a contact form for a near-real time chat with our employees. When you start the chat, the following data is generated:

  • date and time of the call,
  • browser type/version,
  • IP address,
  • operating system used,
  • URL of the last website visited previously,
  • volume of the data sent

If no employee is available to join in the live chat with you, you can send a contact inquiry via the chat window. In this case, the data you enter in the form will be captured in addition to the above-listed data.

Depending on the process of the chat with our employees, you may enter further personal data in the course of the dialogue.

When you call up the websites https://shop.bb-sensors.com and https://bb-sensors.com, the chat widget in the form of a JavaScript file is loaded by AWS Cloudfront. The chat widget is the equivalent of the source code which is executed on your computer to make the chat possible.

Furthermore, the course of the live chats is saved. We do this to save you the trouble of possibly having to give detailed information about the history of your inquiry, as well as to ensure a continuous quality control for our live chat service. Please tell us if you do not wish us to save the course of the live chat with you. To do this, send an email to datenschutz@bb-sensors.com. We will immediately erase all stored live chats with you.

For more information about the handling of personal data at Userlike UG (limited liability), go to https://www.userlike.com/de/terms#privacy-policy.

Use of Google Analytics

Type and purpose of processing:

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, i.e. text files which are stored on your computer and permit analysis of your use of the website. The data relating to your use of the website generated by the cookie is normally transmitted to a server operated by Google in the USA, where it is stored. However, due to the activation of IP anonymisation on these web pages, Google will previously truncate your IP address within Member States of the European Union or in other Contracting States to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to and truncated by Google on servers in the United States. Commissioned by the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on the website activities, and to provide to the website operator other services in connection with the use of the website and the internet. The IP address transmitted by your browser in the frame of Google Analytics will not be combined with other Google data.

The purpose of data processing is the evaluation of the use of the website and the composition of reports on activities on the website. Based on the use of the website and the internet, other services in this connection are to be provided.

Legal basis:

We will process the data on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR).

Recipients:

Google will receive the data as a processor. We concluded a respective processing contract with Google.

Storage time:

The data will be erased as soon as they are no longer required by us for recording purposes.

Transfer to third countries:

Google processes your data in the USA and submitted to the EU_US Privacy Shield https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework.

Mandated or required provision:

You provide your personal data voluntarily and solely based on your consent. If you forbid the access, the functionality of the website may be restricted.

Revoking your consent:

You can set your browser software so that no cookies will be stored; however, please note that in this case you may not be able to make full use of all functions of this website. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: Browser add-on for deactivating Google Analytics.

In addition or as an alternative to the browser add-on, you can forbid tracking by Google Analytics on our website by pressing the blue round button in the lower left corner of the screen. Click on the “?” behind “Marketing”. Now remove the green tick from Google Analytics, which appears in the newly opened window.  This installs an opt-out cookie on your device. As long as the cookie remains installed in your browser, it prevents any future capture by Google Analytics for this website and this browser.

Profiling:

The Google Analytics tracking tool is used to assess the behaviour of the visitors to the website and to analyse their interests. To this end, we generate a pseudonymous user profile.

Provision of services at a charge

Type and purpose of processing:

For the provision of services at a charge, we ask you for additional data, e.g. payment details, so that we can fulfil your order.

Legal basis:

Processing the data required for the completion of the contract is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR.

Recipients:

Processors may receive the data.

Storage time:

We store this data in our systems until expiry of the statutory storage periods, generally 6 or 10 years for reasons of due accounting and tax-law requirements.

Mandated or required provision:

You provide your personal data voluntarily. If you do not provide your personal data, we cannot give you access to the contents and services offered by us.

Embedding the Trusted Shop

Trust Badge

The Trusted Shops Trust Badge is embedded on this website to indicate our Trusted Shops quality seal and the collected ratings, if any, and to offer the Trusted Shops products to the customers after they placed an order.
This serves to protect our legitimate interests in optimum marketing of our product range in the frame of a weighing of interests. The Trust Badge and the services it promotes are offered by Trusted Shops GmbH, Subbelrather Str. 15C, 50823 Cologne. When the Trust Badge is called up, the web server will automatically store a so-called server log file which comprises e.g. your IP address, date and time of the call, transmitted data volume, and the calling provider (access data) and documents the call-up. This access data is not evaluated and will be overwritten automatically at the latest seven days after the end of your visit to our website. Other personal data is only transmitted to Trusted Shops if you decide to use Trusted Shops products after having completed placing an order, or are already registered for Trusted Shops use. In this case, the contractual agreement between you and Trusted Shops applies.

We do not use any social media plugins. Our website just has hyperlinks to the respective services.

Type and purpose of processing:

We embed YouTube videos on some of our websites. The operator of the respective plugin is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA (“YouTube”). When a YouTube video is started, the provider uses cookies capturing information about the user behaviour.

For more information on the purpose and scope of the capture of data and its processing by YouTube, go to the provider’s privacy statements. There, you will receive further information on your respective rights and setting options for the protection of your privacy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). Storage time and revoking your consent:

Users who deactivated the storage of cookies for the Google-Ad program can be sure that no such cookies are set when they watch YouTube videos. But YouTube also stores non-personal user information in other cookies. If you wish to prevent this, you must block the setting of cookies in the browser.

For more information on data protection at YouTube, see the provider’s privacy statement at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/

On your visit to the website, information is transmitted to Google that you called up the respective page of our website. This happens irrespective of whether Google provides a user account through which you are logged in or no user account exists. If you are logged in with Google, the data is directly assigned to your account.

If you do not wish Google to assign your visit to the website to your Google profile, you must log out before clicking on the button. Google saves your data as user profiles and uses it for PR, market research and/or customised presentation of its website.
